Kitchen Tips For A Perfect Balance Between Function And Aesthetics

The kitchen is no longer just a place for cooking. The family spends a great deal of time in the kitchen, therefore, the style and overall design of the furniture is important. The kitchen tips below include recommendations on how to properly place furniture and appliances in the kitchen.
There are four types of kitchen layout options available to the homeowner, and should be considered during construction or remodeling. The layouts include: U-shaped, L- shaped, double-breasted and single-breasted.
In each of the layouts, there are three main items around which most of the activities in the kitchen revolve. These three items are the refrigerator, stove and sink. These three appliances form what is known as the work triangle. For efficiency in the kitchen, it is necessary to achieve the minimum distance between them. This will allow users to reach all three items without difficulty.
Ideally, the sink should be placed in the middle of the work triangle, and about 1.2 to 2.1 meters from the fridge. The stove should be positioned so as to avoid accidents and and injuries. For the location of the refrigerator, it is better to choose a corner in the kitchen so that it does not take up too much of the work area. Where possible, try to have the refrigerator open toward the wall. Some manufacturers allow for the door to be switched to accommodate opening on whichever side is most convenient for the owner.
In the U-shaped kitchen layout, furniture is placed against the three walls. The double-breasted layout is suitable for kitchens that are housed in a long, narrow room or corridor. The furniture is best arranged along the two parallel walls, with the sink at the end.
In the single-breasted kitchen layout, the refrigerator should be placed at one end, with the stove at the other end and the sink in the middle. The majority of the working area should be in the space between sink and cooker.
What is the layout of your kitchen? How well does it work for you?
