With unseasonably warm weather and the leaves just beginning to display their fall colors, this might be the very best time of year in Door County! Whether driving through the countryside admiring the colors, taking a walk or bike ride through one of the parks, or strolling along the shore or through one of the villages — all are relaxing and invigorating at the same time!

One of the first trees to show its fall colors each year at my house is this old maple tree by my driveway. I took this photo this morning when I was out walking with my Boston Terrier, Oscar — you can see his ears sticking up above the fence at the bottom of the picture!

This is also the time of year when lots of people come to Door County to buy real estate. It is a little quieter and the fall motel rates are a bit lower than in prime summer time. Most of the shops and restaurants are still open too. It’s still pretty much of a “buyer’s market”, and there’s a great selection of properties for sale — homes, land, condos — on the shore, on bluffs with fabulous views, in the villages, and in peaceful inland areas. You name it — we can find it for you!
